Heat and Energy in this game, SM, don't really make sense. In reality Heat is doing what Energy should be doing, and Heat should be doing something else. Here is why:

In reality, everything needs energy to seize to function or to mobile. So, without energy you shouldn't seize to function. So without energy you should be loosing turns. At-least, one or so to Regenerate.

Okay so what about Heating?

So, what really happens when you OVER HEAT something? It "Blows Up" right! So, in reality when our mechs over heat to some point they should explode. Even a SMART PHONE OVER HEATED can explode (Look that up if you don't believe me). So to some extent, there would have to be a limit of where the MECH should still function before exploding. Say for instance the Heat is 200, Cooling 80, than Where would the Limit stand of the explosion? 250? 300?

Anyway, I just had to get this out of my head.

Instead of exploding, how about doing bonus explosive damage if the opponents heat is double its cooling. Just like what energy mechs do.

Honestly if you've ever seen an Iron Man movie, if something overheats, it shuts down or worse has a meltdown

How about right before a player takes their turn, his or her mech takes damage equal to it's excess heat.

And for energy there should be a forced shutdown, and if the shutdown is forced then energy regen is doubled for that turn.

To be fair, most machines slow down or shut down when overheated.
I do think energy damage in this game doesn't make too much sense though.
