Yes, sadly a lot of people (Including myself) missed some pretty good rewards by missing the leveling update. Only thing we can do is hope that we can our rewards someday...
Well first off the quickest way to become better in the rankings (and gain some confidence), is to give your mech a type. If you watch top player replays, Im willing to bet that 99% of anyone you watch who is in a top 6 clan will have a dominant type of item on their mech. Looking at your mech you didn't quite catch that.
But no need to worry in the slightest! Getting to rank 1 is easy if you know how to work with the weapons you got. There are a lot of different combinations of weapons that can be used in 2 actions. But there are some that when combined together, create something greater than the sum of their individual power.
Think of it like this; 3 = 3 and 2 = 2 but 3 + 2 = 6.
Combining good weapons with one another produces a similar effect. If I was you, I would set my sights at rank 1. Its a great goal to achieve that will boost anyones confidence. If you want to become a member of a top 3 clan, it might take awhile, or a lot of money. Or both honestly.
Here is my mech after I was kicked from HardToKill and after SuperNovas release.

With this I doubt I will be able to get into a top 3 clan again, as it seems to be holding an 85% win over loss ratio over these last few weeks.
Another thing for top clans, you'll need to be active. Like 400 wins per week active.
But for an easy but effective, minimal mythical build, I would try this.

It works decently well, and uses the mythicals you describe. Try making the 2-4 range 1 knockback heat weapon (Red Lookout in this case) as weak as possible, to conserve weight. Should get you to rank 1.
Good luck!
