Hi Bluz here, so I got bored.. So I wanted to post this topic to break my boredom. So, I am going to try and teach newbies how to kick a mech's butt!

So basically, at the start. (you still have premium account right?) Try leveling up to level 5 only campaign. Though if you want to play in multiplayer early, you can do a good newbie build. Using 2 rail guns, and use rollins.. and for torso, best choice is "Fence". (If you want to save your tokens) For modules.. I am quite not sure how. Though buying boxes is what I suggest.
Click on the spoiler below for additional info:
Spoiler:
There are new gift keys released. If you have received a gift key, you would receive 25,000 credits. So the more money you have, better boosts you can get.

As I stated in the spoiler, there are gift keys, very helpful for every newbie to do a good build. Though again I have to say, if you want to be 100% sure to always win in online battles, try leveling to campaign to level 5. And by the way, buy the available specials (which are: Teleport, hook, and charge) after you reach certain levels..
Spoiler:
Sorry, but I don't know what levels you have to reach for unlocking those certain items.

Ok, moving to... BUILDING YOUR MECH.

At the low levels, I theorize that you should do random weapons that have high damage. I think best choices of weapons at low levels are... probably Rail Gun, or Roast. Etc. Oh and make sure to cover up ranges 2-4 which are the ranges of side weapons. 5-6 range for top weapons. (also, there are some weapons that can reach 7-8 range). And if you reach level 6, it's more mindful to buy the 3300 credit cost regeneration/Cool Down modules. So your regeneration nor cool down is as high as each other.

Spoiler:
Having sufficient cool down and regeneration is a very important aspect of the game.

As I said in the spoiler, having high cool down or regeneration is important right? That's because some players already learn the heat build types, which causes your opponent to shut down and miss a turn. And some other players might use "Buzzer" the lowest level energy weapon that drains energy at -20.. So I assume that you would use some weapons that require some energy. So, having a high regeneration and cool down is important.

TIP: Buying boxes is the only way to get legendary items, and epic items. Because legendaries can only be obtained from items box, and epic items are over-prized. Same for some rare items..

How to beat "God Mode"
Quite frankly, God Mode is pretty easy. However, God Mode will have high hp..
For Low Levels: 750 HP
For High Levels: 1850 HP (I assume)

Although, God Mode would only try to stomp, so make sure you have a weapon that has unlimited usage with Knock back.
And also, try bringing yourself with Explosive Resistance kit, and repair kit if you want to have higher percentages upon winning..

PS. God Mode's stomp is relatively high in damage, so beware.

Ok, that is all. Thanks for reading! :)

Think you can tweak it? Feel free to post it to the comments/replies. :)

Nice tips. :)

In general a recommendation is to just have fun and try things - there's many of ways to do well in SM, nobody can tell you the best one.

They can try, until they get beaten by the new best one. So just enjoy yourselves and see what you like doing. :)

Thank you. :)

Well, I certainly agree with your statement: "Do you what you like doing". Although, I am giving some basic mechanisms for the game. :)

Though, item boxes just makes me miserable. Like just now at Bluz, I got a Thunder Stampede, even though I freakishly need Fire Stampede.. :x

Some more things you could mention:

In later gaming it's a good idea to focus on one of the three damage types to get the full bonus of drainers, heating or nrg-drain etc.

In the beginning it's more important to use weapons that fit in range together, so that you don't waste turns by walking or jumping in attack range. Don't care about the damage-type. Important is just the right range.

I see many neewbie mechs with lots of weapons of the same range. Many build mechs with 2 or more swords.

That's totally bad. You won't have the chance to do a sword combo (unless you play against another neewbie), and that's because of two reasons:

1. Knockback-swords
Many swords have knock-back, so if you hit your opponent once, the sword will knock him away and you can't use your 2. sword. Unless you have cought him in the corner but then it comes to...

2. Knock-backing opponent
Only foolish noobs will give you the chance for a sword-combo.
Getting in close combat to your opponent happens only in a few ways:
a) He grabs you with hook and attacks without knockback (noobish idiot)
b) He ends his turn with the grabbling hook (even bigger idiot)
c) You charge him in corner, teleport next to him or grab him with your hook

In case of c) then you can attack now once with a sword.
But then it's his turn and he will knock you back (or jump back if you are in the corner).

So you will never, never, never be able to do a sword-combo unless playing against an idiot (or a masterstrategic who has an evil masterplan you don't see).

So save your weight and weaponspace for another range weapon.

I have a tip too: when you reached level 8 you should by a triple spammer, its really OP and you can beat almost everyone.

And about the two swords and combos in the higher levels. In level 30 it could work. A mythical meteor and the epic meteor combo. Because a lot of players using the mythical meteor now. So when they use their hook or teleport and the sword, you can use the mythical meteor first and the epic meteor after that. And maybe you can't use them in the battle because your opponent dont want you to use them so its some kind of threat (its like with the inferno... you have to be more careful and make a lots of shutdowns). Your opponent won't use the his mythical meteor sword (probably his strongest weapon) because he knows you could make more damage.

Thanks for some additional Tips MrOneTwoo and Small. :)

MrOneTwo has a good point. My threatening mech is I have inferno and Meltdown. ;) With 130 energy, energy mechs wouldn't be a big problem for me.. So if they use Call of Lighting, I'll use Inferno Then Meltdown.

Any who, keep the additional tips coming. And I will update the topic soon.
