I work in a gift shop in a museum and that's usually where I play SM to kill the time. If we meet in battle and I have to suddenly disappear or I stop fighting during my turns, I apologize. I don't like to be a quitter and I'll even stay and fight a Mech that clearly has me outgunned. I do it for the experience (both the XP and to learn from the loss). I don't want to earn a reputation as a quitter. I just wanted to let everybody know that the only reason I'll quit a battle is because a customer has walked up to the register to buy something...or my manager walks in and I need to look busy. It bothers me to do it every time, especially when I have to quit a battle I'm about to win. That's the worst.

I think its better, if totally doomed in a match, to put down your shield and droid and get destroyed - that way you get 'looser reward' and the other guy gets the full winner rerward. I prefer an enemy wo does that rather than a first turn quit anytime.

RupertAngier...I'm up to a level 29 mech.
BigDaddy22...That's pretty much what I do. When I know I'm doomed, I like to use my last remaining action points to march right up to the other mech's face and just allow them to strike me down. I like to pretend it's an honorable death.

Ha, I think I have done that once. But I generally prefer it if my opponent gives it a shot, even if it does not work out. For the player that is going to win, it is more fun fighting with the illusion of a challenge, rather than no challenge at all. Oh and I have no problem with players that stay and do nothing; i recognize people have either lives or connection issues (o both). At least I get some xp/credits from a nonplayer rather than from a quitter.
