Hi, since I passed Level 20, I am experiencing a lot of grinding in the game. The problem is, that it takes very long to reach the next levels. In addition, due to the rather tight calculated monetary rewards, you cannot change much of your equipment. So you have to wait until you reach the next step until you redesign your mech (I am currently at Level 28 with a Lucifer and saving for a Shielded). Overall, in the Mid-Level the game actually contains much grinding and it is currently ruining the fun for me, as playing over and over again with the same build gets boring. Altough online battles offer a faster progress, it still takes very long if you take this Step-Evolution into account.
Therefore I would like to hear how other players feel about this and how the more experienced ones overcame this problem.

I'd agree with lilconquer; if you got the lucifer the hard part is over. Hardest is getting lucifer if you didnt plan for it from the very start (and so spent all your cash playing with low level builds).
In your situation, it is worth considering building a gladiator at level 27, 28 or 29, then you have two sound builds (this and lucifer) to earn cash to fund Shielded and other higher up builds. Its good to be able to swap between them for a change and if there are no players on at one level. (Youll also probably be able to get further in the single player with gladiator, opening up more cash).

The best way to have fun with the same build ( for me anyways) is to find an opponent that is evenly matched and keep battling them. I rather play a very close matches than ones that are just easy victories. Also, go for the Gladiator mech like BigDaddy22 said.

Well, building a Gladiator is far too expensive for me, I am lacking the money, altough I think I did not waste too much of it, as I got the Lucifer right on Level 22. Or should one only invest in rare bodies, but not rare weapons?

I'm fighting at level 23 right now and saving up for a lvl 33 mech. Once I hit lvl 33 I bought the shielded hull and other equipment, with the 370,000 I had saved up and it didn't buy half the equipment I need xD I'm grinding hard at lvl 23 now, and it is very slow. At first I wanted to complain, coz yes it's very slow ^_^ Then I realized all I would have to do is buy 770 reds and I could build the mech I want (Might have to do a bit more grinding). I haven't done that, because I don't really want to spend reds. However if I was able to build my mech straight off without grinding, that temptation of wanting to buy reds wouldn't be there. This game needs it's money It's not impossible to grind, so yes it's still a free to play game, however that temptation is always there Very clever I'd say. I'm not sure I'm experienced. However I got Lucifer. I stopped caring about my win count (as I'd like to buy kits and get 30-40 win streaks) because the cost on kits can be pretty heavy and I'm working on a shielded build.

Or should one only invest in rare bodies, but not rare weapons? Think of rare weapons as a bonus really. You should try to build a good build without them. Then you should think about getting them to improve your build even more if it fits your play style. Just buying one rare weapon and having the rest of your weapons be weak is not a good idea. Edit: 2 people posting before me.

Just use 480 of the reds to halve your grinding time for 30 days
