how did the other version not have a future? there were tons of active players everyday and the only thing people complained about was the glitches/bugs. and occasionally people using kits all the time. the game was great back then, nobody wanted a change and you guys through a huge change when nobody wanted it. are you trying to lose players and make a horrible game? if so you're doing a GREAT job. btw im not complaining because it's making me any worse, i still win like i did before but the problem is i am stuck with 1 build at lvl 24 and i cant get rare+ items for my level, nor can i get stuff for lower lvls if i want to try something different. im completely STUCK with what i have and tbh that gets boring af
EDIT: also Ilona lets not be a smart a and say what i suggested before was the funniest thing you ever heard. Especially when you want to compare what i said, to the stupid idea to ruin a great game and take out all the variety to it, that is making players old and new quit by the boat loads. the old system had happy players the new system is just crap and defending it the way you are after hearing all the complaints is the "funniest thing ive ever heard"

I feel the need to ask this simple question, if the game was doing as badly as you say don't you think they would have reverted back until they can polish it more? In my opinion what you have is a handful of people that dominated before and posted on the forums, now the game really has been balanced out better and the new players are performing well and enjoy the game. It just so happens that those players aren't really on the forums yet.

Not your post in general. I am not sure how often I said it since the 1st of october, and please apologize when a post of me sounds a bit harsh. Its not my intention.
We did this update for several reasons. I won't go in details anymore, just read up some of my older posts. One of them was that we saw that almost no player played after reaching level 30 on his real level. They all picked a matchmaking level of 22, 27, 32 A game that is stuck like that has no future! It shows that there is a problem when players don't want to achieve more, level up and fight someone equal.
Thats why you can only buy item boxes now on your level or max + 2 level ahead of your level.
About the forum.... Like I said many times, we take all complaints, rants and critique very serious. We look it up and see if its compatible with our idea how we want to go with SuperMechs in future and when it is -> we'll go together that way. But also typically for a forum: Those who dislike it will speak, the other remains silent.
So, the forum isn't a mirror for the whole game. We have to rely on statistics and feedback that reach us with mail, Facebook or even on skype as well.
One fact is, that the amount of active players has increased since the update. Another fact is, that we get a lot feedback that a lot players love the fusion and also the item boxes.
I am sure that you'll understand when I won't mention any financially aspect....
But, I don't think that the update will EVER get reverted. We'll have to move forward. Backwards is never a solution.

On the old version of SM at least you had the possibility of being able to build 3 successful builds though (and more if you dared to challenge the higher builds). Now you are limited to improving only a level 30 build and stuck with that build. The chance of being able to collect strong enough items at lower levels is so low, by the time you've passed through that level you might be lucky to end up with one legendary item. The only way to actually build a strong mech is to reach level 30 and grind the hell out of the game till you manage to collect a few items. My level 22 mech has 6 legendary items equipped to it. I've seen some with more. No doubt there's level 30 builds similar to this. By my calculation it will take ~550 wins (not including losses here) at level 30 to receive just 1 legendary item (if you're only buying item boxes and nothing else). To receive 6 legendary items at level 30 you need to win 3300 games (still not including any losses, losses makes the whole process even slower!!). Now that's to say those 6 legendary items will be useful at all, they may not even fit your mech build. The grinding required to get 3300 wins is heavy!! I'm only at 2.4k wins myself and I've been playing this game for quite a while now. To make matters worse, your grinding will be made slower because you will find yourself losing a lot to the level 30's that already have a collection of legendary items. I guess I've kind of gone off track ^_^ What I'm saying is now you have no chance of competing against players who already have a collection of legendary items between the levels of 15-27, because it's not statistically possible to acquire enough legendary items as you pass through those levels. This forces you to grind you way up to level 30 where you can start to compete. Even once you've got up there it will require you to win nearly 3000+ battles to afford the items boxes needed to get lucky enough for legendary items. Which means you are stuck with 1 build that you constantly have to work on, and that will get seriously boring after a while. You could purchase item boxes with reds, however the chances getting legendary items are still far to low. I know the game doesn't want to become a pay to win game, but you could spend $100 and you might just get 1 or 2 legendary items, a waste of money if you ask me, especially for beta game that is still going to under go more changes. While I see the new update attracting new playyers since there is quite a lot of depth to the game now, I also think you might be chasing those players away when they come to understand how much time and effort (or money) they need to put in to get anywhere.

I am not sure how you made this calculation... A small item pack cost 12k sm credits on level 30 and each win gives you around 2400 credits. So, its 5 (won) battles to purchase 3 new items and 33 packs in worst case till you have a legendary. About more changes: Yes, there will be some! We are working on fights where you can win items, we want to add a daily bonus, and more stuff when you reached level 30, etc etc.

"In my opinion what you have is a handful of people that dominated before and posted on the forums, now the game really has been balanced out better and the new players are performing well and enjoy the game. It just so happens that those players aren't really on the forums yet." Wrong. Before coming here to give my opinion I played enough to fully understand the new system. And except against OptimusPrime I didn't lose once... What a joke. More balanced? With the stuff I've gathered before the update I have now only legendary items and a bunch of equipement to upgrade them - oh sorry, to "fuse" them, even if this term is completely irrelevant here. "Does the fact they aren't tell you something? " This is called "Sophism" dude. "They all picked a matchmaking level of 22, 27, 32 A game that is stuck like that has no future!" The previous system allowed us to make different gears at differents levels. Since none of the developers/moderators agreeing the update is a good player, I assume you didn't play enough/are not good enough to understand what I mean. The "stuck" issue come from the balance of the game and the limited winning strategies allowed when you are fully equipped. You've got all wrong. "One fact is, that the amount of active players has increased since the update." I hardly believe this. I'm back since one week now and this is the exact opposite - 3 months ago there were more players, and more important, more COMPETITIVE players. Are you all practicing the "Coué" Method, convicing yourselves this is all good?

This is a good update. It is clearly aimed at balancing imbalances, or at the very least, getting the ship steered in the right direction to begin deeper balancing efforts.
Some folks came to depend on imbalances and the status quo, and developed their strategies accordingly. Unfortunately, this is a formula doomed to failure. Apologies to all of those whom are inconvenienced by this effort, but in the long run, I am confident that Supermechs will be better for it.
The blowback that comes now will be viewed as worth it a year from now, so don't be so quick to dismiss it without trying to understand the motivations. It will be ok. Give it some time. SM is still young.
Thank you all for your understanding
