It seems i get the same loot but i have to keep on fighting tougher opponents with more and more hp. Any reason to ladder climb?

No real reason, but generally people will take you more seriously if you are are higher rank. If you're having trouble winning multiplayer matches try campaign mode to earn cash to buy better items.

Well first off, advancing further in the game is fun.

As you rank up you fight better players, offering more of a challenge. Also you get to see first hand how difference strategies work against your mech and can prepare a counter mech accordingly, though this usually only happens at rank 1.

and then you meet people with maxed out everything and you question your reasoning for going higher
