I just fought a guy who used a heat shield, using two sureshots only increased his heat by 6-10. I try the best heat shield in the game and some guy overheats me in two turns using only kinetic weapons slightly stronger then what I used on the other guy.... WTF?

Same thing with energy shields every time I fight someone with them. Any explanation for this?

He is using either 15% or 10%.

And the shield you used? You might have used around 30% or above. They aren't the best shields. In fact, they are the worst.

The most advisable shields are between 15%-20% (heat shields) for energy mechs; 15%-25%. some can hold 30%.

And you might also want to read upon how much heat generated or energy reduced each damage.

Some shield settings are screwed up in the shop. I know one shield that is a 30% one, yet it says 2 energy for every 1 damage. I used it, and it definitely costed more energy per damage. They really need to fix that. I suggest a energy shield from 10-25. 25 if you have over 130 energy. For heat, eh, whatever is below 25.
