I haven't played in over a year, and haven't played -a lot- in around two. So, naturally, I have a question...

Is Lucifer (the legendary torso), better than Electric Guardian (the rare torso)? Electric seems better, but I can't really tell due to one being legendary.

Well its Electric Guardian of course. Lucifer is a legendary torso for the level 14's. So Electric Guardian is a rare torso for level 30. Oh and yes, Electric Guardian has better stats on Energy/Heat Regeneration/Cooldown, and has alot more Hitpoints than Lucifer does. Lucifer-258 Electric Guardian-372. Electric Guardian also have more hp even if Lucifer is fully upgrade to level 16
Hope this helps

Welcome Back! By the way.

What you are probably realizing is that you can't fight at different levels anymore. So Lucifer is essentially useless right now. You want to build the strongest mech you can with the parts you have and within the weight limit. Don't worry about part levels as they won't affect your match ups.

Ah, so part levels no longer affects anything (I think it did before). Right now, it seems to just be the ladder system. Are most people that consistently play rank 1? I'm currently stuck at 5-6 /:

You got it. If you use lower level parts you are going to find yourself lower in the ladder ranks but you can't deliberately choose this. It just happens naturally based on how well you perform.

Keep in mind that, unlike ladder points which could be obtained at any level in the old system, you have to be rank 1 and beating rank 1 mechs to climb to the top of the current leaderboard. So there is no advantage whatsoever, in terms of the leaderboard, to using lower level parts.
