There are times when my opponent players level is shown wrong in the arena, for example just now it selected a online player which showed him having level 8 , but in arena it showed lvl 14

has happened few times

I think its due to his equipment level and player level difference, not a bug.. :P

no, it only started happening after the update, i dont think its due to his equipment level and player level difference
