I think I found your problem here, you should press 'new' and create a username along with a password and you should keep track of those two for the future, this way you'll be able to play as 'an existing player' and not as a guest anymore, for that, after you create a username and a password, you need to log out and press on 'existing player' again and write your username and password and press on login, and you're in there with all your progress saved using the account you just created.
