Yet if he never did, the child would had never been born, and if the child had never been born, the man would had never had to go to the past.

This is a time paradox. They're epic, and if you understand them you also understand that the future decides the past. Odd huh

If a person opens a portal to the past and shoots himself. So he died in the past which means that he didn't come in the future to kill his past.

Which means he is still alive in the future. :mrgreen:

He's saying that temptation is part of human nature. Not really confusing, everyone has temptation and urges, but whether you choose to act on them or not is your choice. Temptation doesn't control you completely like a puppet, it just influences your thoughts and if you give in, your actions. So the former part of that quote cancels out the second part. He can resist anything, his point remains. Not a paradox.
