Firefall is a FREE online multiplayer FPS by Red 5, http://www.firefallthegame.com , check out there web and tell me what you think, there are so many online multiplayer FPS out there, and i think this game really stand out, the game is different in many areas to that of the current FPS out there. Usually its a team death match or capture the flag in most online FPS , but firefall is an open vast world you can explore, gather resources. The graphics is really awesome, and so is the community. Its not totally PvP out in the world, but playing with groups killing monsters, thumping for resources really makes up for it. you can PvP by queing up for matches.
I am a beta tester and i have to say, its really really awesome, yes it have bugs and needs improving but it will really stand out as one of the best when it comes out.

I've seen/heard of quite a few similar games actually. Run around in an "open world". Do multiplayer quests/missions to gain ingame resources/money. Que for actuall pvp play, in which the players who shell out money for the extras are on the top of the leaderboards.

Might check it out later though. That's just my 'judge the book by it's cover' assumption.
