You don't have to agree or disagree with them. Thing is, putting it out in public is so very childish. It won't reach anything and only serves to make them feel bad.

Uh-oh... I was right now really up for a very angry post But nah, I won't rant.
As many said already, become a mod is not about forum posts. Here on BD is so much to do every day and we would go crazy without the help of the RC, wiki, tribune, AANC and also SM team.
BD isn't dying at all. To be honest, I think there was never such a big progress in the past 3 years as we have now. I could tell you many things what we finished finally and how many glitches we ironed out and how we improved...but I think its enough to add just one: Updates we plan to bring in had to stay before weeks on RC till everything was tested and without bugs. Now, we are at the point that we can merge to .com within a max of 2-3 days because everything is just done.
All this is/was only possible because of a great team, working day and night and always thinking about how to help the players and therefore the community. Tacticsoft is a game studio. We develop games. We don't claim to be a social network. Don't get me wrong, I love the forum and its an important part - but at the end of the day, it is just a part. Without a working game, you don't need a forum at all.
I have right now 5 more people on my mind, which i would love to promote to moderators and only 2-3 of them posts here. Unfortunately, I just can't do it right now.
BD is around long time. Even before Facebook became popular. The players have changed and its normal. You register to a game, because you want to play a game and not socialize (this comes usually later). Its a big plus when a game has a good community and I would say : yes, we have a good one. Its a small family though... We can try to make it grow, and I'd love to see it growing but I am not willing to forget about the part that its a community build around a game. So I will rather promote those who help us to make the game better and attract with a better game more players!
So, on this topic, congrats to varidish and korupt to the well deserved mod spot!

It's not the amount of posts you make, it's the quality of those posts.. I believe they will post when needed, and they do post when it is useful.
I would rather see someone make only a few posts that actually contribute than 100 posts that all say potato.

But there's constructive thinking, criticism with the possibility of improving something and there's simply making someone feel bad for no real purpose. This thread achieves nothing but making Varidhish and Korupt feel like lesser people. Is that something you consider productive mate?

but being a mod is a forum based duty, everything else an AANC or MT member can do just as well. if a mod isn't around moderating moderated things, it's just a colorful name. and nobody said high post count mattered, it's posting enough so people don't have to ask who's that? alexanderkitty wrote: I did not say that buddy. This thread achieves nothing but making Varidhish and Korupt feel like lesser people. Is that something you consider productive mate? i have tenure, feelings are irrelevant. By working on other BD-related projects you prove you care about Battle Dawn, you show your attitude in the scheme of things and your reliability. Making someone a moderator is free - it is a form of backpat to the player in question that he or she has been doing so good of a job they want him/her to represent them and it can cause for them to be productive forum moderators too. If you want to discuss the staff, by all means, Ilona and Dan are very reasonable people who can certainly voice their reasons - and if you make strong, valid points against them, they can act on them. But by publicly assaulting individuals who have shown interest and devotion in helping Battle Dawn become a better place for everyone - all that is reached is for them to feel attacked and for you to waste your time and come across as having a negative attitude. The community doesn't have to know a moderator to profit from a moderators ability to guide them, protect them and encourage them. If you would like to discuss this in detail, I would be glad to have a chat with you about it.
