I say, let's give these guys time for them to prove themselves. That's basically the purpose of "Jr. Mod" rank anyway

I would just like to say, I know both Varid and Korupt quite well and I believe both will do well. Many of you may not know Korupt, it is true. He does not post that much. But the posts he does make are usually in suggestions or players helping players and are actually useful. Just that he doesn't have out in spam (off-topic) that much doesn't say anything.

Plus you guys don't know him on Skype. He is helpful in several of the MT teams, and without him we'd get things tested a lot less fast and thoroughly. He is a wise guy, an active player and has pretty much full knowledge of the game. He's helpful to newbies, fair, and polite. If you knew him, there'd be no way you could disagree with him becoming moderator.

So congrats to both of you, Varidhish and Korupt. The reason my post was about Korupt is just that I know him better

You should at least give them a chance judging them for after a day or two isn't right plus they do a lot behind the scenes so even if they are not on the forums as often as others doesn't mean they are not worthy to mods.

At least give them a try you never know they could be the best mods BD has ever seen

I'd like to make the position and the job of the moderators clear here;

Being a moderator is not a popularity contest.
Being a mod is about your ability.

We recruit new mods based on hard work in our volunteer teams (MT and AANC) and the way they compose themselves in those teams. We do not just choose people who are the most popular on the forum, or who have the most posts. That would be like hiring a car mechanic based on how good looking he/she is rather than based on their actual ability to fix cars.

You will not get a mod position by posting a lot or being popular. You will become one (maybe) by being a hard worker. All mods and ex-mods have run the same gauntlet, and I'm sure any one of them will gladly tell you just how much work he/she put in to earn their position.

Protip: if you want to be a mod, publicly announcing it in the same breath as acting all butthurt over people who do become one is a terrific way of proving you are not mature enough for the job. If you have beef with moderators, you ask Ilona or Dan at first why they became mods and once you know all the details you can argu with them why you feel they shouldn't have made it.
