The Cake has eaten Barney a long time ago and to prove it, spits them back out. Barney has left a bad impression in the Cake's mind of the word "friends". Furthermore, the Cake does not need friends. Friends are for people who can't handle enemies. The Cake laughs at you.

erm granted but then you can't eat it so what's the point? You're supposed to obtain the cake to eat it. It's not like you can just start firing rockets at a cake (although they'd probably lock you up for that).
I sing 'soft kitty' to make the Cake go to sleep.

Your hands sink into the frosty frosting exterior of the cake. You lose feeling in your hands, but when you try and tear them out, you find that your muscles in your arm have been completely numbed and cannot move, while you lose feeling in your fingertips, then your fingers, then your palm, your arm...the frosting creeps up towards your face. You scream, but the frosting enters your mouth and you gag. The Cake wins, again. I carry the table the Cake is on to a nuclear power station, where I expose it to extreme radiation which might cause it to faint and lose its epic powers. And then I could de-radiate it with my...de-radiator and then eat it.
