there are other good anime with good plot, don't just watch 1 or 2 animes and say such things.
imo, anime is way better than American cartoon in every aspect.

all cartoons irritate me
including anime cant stay sitting infront of it
cant stand picture books (manga) either
though the plot of deathnote i liked, i have made myself aware of others and was not interested
on that note the majority of shows / movies irritate me
except for lost... that was awesome

well they are mostly pure comedy or pure action without any deep meaning, mostly for kids. That's why no one is addicted to American cartoon, they watch it but it leaves no impress on the viewer. It's more like instant noodles.
While anime and manga has a wider variety and twister plot. I guess many of u will still remember how L narrow Kira suspects down to a number of people, and I still remember every line that the characters in Clannad said. It's more like a real movie, but with unreal character.
And plus, not only Death Note has good plot, Kurosagi has the same plot. Onizuka and Hammer Sessions are very original too. Liar Games, Gantz, Bakuman, Ichigo 100%, and countless more, all have very good plots. Even I, who didn't drop a tear from watching any kind of tragedy, cried hard when I watch Clannad.
Moreover, Japanese Manga Industry is not about Manga and Anime, they also include Visual Novel, Games and Light Novel which I could say, excluding from Games, u don't have an idea about.
