I've thought of something along these lines as well and I'm sure hundreds more have. The main problem I've encountered as aister pointed out was the mentality of the players. and what vardishi said.

Long time no see Revan it's been many years since we last played together. As per your suggestion although it's a great idea the staff would never allow this. The game is not as successful as it may appear. It's thriving, maybe doing better with this CE, but it's still and will more than likely remain a very very small profit game.
If they were to introduce a "free" round they lose money that they could possibly be earning and in business that isn't smart under any circumstance. Don't forget if they gave the okay for this round then afterward more would be requested causing a big fuss and such.
tl;dr good idea but won't happen

Well with the replies of everyone it does look as if it wont happen  It makes sense though BD is a business and they wouldn't want to hurt profit if it can be avoided. And how you been Anarchist, what was your ign again? (im guessing Power of Gov? ) p.s. Awesome sig

Make a list and show me 200 ppl who are willing to pay (and how much), agree on a world and a tick - and I could probably do an era like that.
I tried that before and had like 30 or 40 players ...
But maybe you find more.

I voted Yes Revan cuz I do think it'll be fun to see the booster lose cuz of their lack of real skill. Booster think they have skill but they dont, they just have their wallets. A non boost era would be the best option for real skilled players that really like to play.
And just so everyone that reads this knows and its that the real skill lies on the fact that the Awesomeness Alliance (AWE) has been on E4 for more than 2 years with the same flag, the same leader and almost all the original players. To really keep a team together for so long and maintain a flag with a code, that's skill.
Just to tweak a little this idea (which is a good one):
1. Given that it'll be a non boost era, the admin can give out resource boosts like every two or three days. On regular eras it takes about that much time to reach 100% so the admin can do that on non boost eras.
2. Who ever said 200 tokens as an entry to the non boost era, not gonna happen. Its a non boost era, you go in with what you got and get your daily tokens like non boosters do. If you got real skills, you'll know how to use your resources.
3. I can assure you that booster wont play cuz they are total cowards, thats why it wont work, not cuz its a bad idea, because they dont have the guts to play a non boosting era.
Lets play it. The Awesomeness Alliance will always be there, in the front.
