And actually, it was 1989. Not that long ago. Aister, what also isn't relevant is your argument that all movies and games should be banned. That's also a way different debate. I'm saying, obesity rates are crazy here because we already have games, TV, and movies, why the hell should anime be added to the equation? It shouldn't. Not that I see anime being popular in America anytime soon. I can't speak for Vietnam and Japan but in America, the populace usually doesn't like pedophilia and violent crimes.

wat I said is that they all effect everyone the same. Anime, games, movies, etc. aren't the reasons for the crimes and obesity or unemployment. And if u're saying the US are having enough "addictive" things and u shouldn't add in anime, u are wrong.

Everyone has their right to choose their form of entertainment, given that it's within the law. They can hang out, play sports, go to bar, disco, watch movies, play games, watch anime, read manga or just listen to music. Plus, if u don't know, most of the anime distributed to the US are through the Internet, and the only way to "ban" it is to block every manga / anime related sites, as well as all file hosting services. Which, imo, will cause a big ruckus in the US.

I'll say it again, everyone has their right to do wat they want, within the laws, and it's their fault for not able to control themselves.

Anime is generally referring to animation originating from japan though their are exceptions.

Theres an irish anime called The Book of Kells, it won last years oscar for animation or something, though it is a term generally used to describe japanese cartoons ;}~
