there are several manga/anime translator groups that recruiting cleaners and Chinese - English translators.

Cleaner job: U receive raw mangas, which are scanned directly from the manga or magazine. Simply put, u receive this img:

then u will have to use ur little Photoshop skill to make that picture to a nice clean image without any non-English letter (clear all Japanese/Chinese) to this

of course, no English.

Meanwhile, the translator will translate the Japanese/Chinese to English, of course, any other Japanese related stuff (like their tradition or something like that) then the TypeSetter will put that translation into ur cleaned image. Then a ProofReader will read through it and make sure that the cleaning, translating and typesetting is perfect. Then it's done.
