A Modmin is a helpful gnome-like creature, who removes unwanted rubbish, moves things that are in the wrong place, locks things that should be locked, and keeps trolls at bay.
They have many strange powers which help them in the previously mentioned tasks, and carry mystical hammers, one hit from which can cause a person to disappear for days, sometime indefinitely.
Both male and female Modmins exist, but male Modmins are seen in the wild far more often.
While they do hold an animosity towards pure trolls, some Modmins may themselves be somewhat troll-like, and have a mischievous nature.
They have a complicated hierarchy, where the higher the rank, the more power, but also lower number.
Some Modmins have preferred territories and locations (or are sometimes assigned territories by a more senior Modmin) where they keep watch for trolls, and rubbish that needs removing, but they can usually travel (and use their powers) anywhere.
A few high ranking Modmin have the power to bestow gifts, or 'tokens' of gratitude upon those who help or please them.
