This is a great idea and all but coming from the new players perspective(I just joined hi) I don't think it would make any difference. Already in Earth 2 if you aren't one of the big 12 alliances you have no way to compete. Sure great I joined a new restart but the bonuses the alliance get from their wells is insane. For instance take the alliance G,their alliance controls approximately 23 metal mines+13 oils wells,how can i compete with +115 metal and +65 oil per tick? That's an extra 5,520 metal per day per player,3120 per day per player.
Now let's put that in perspective currently my colony has the 50% boost for coming out of protection early so I generate 192 metal per tick and 96 oil per tick w/645 workers. Per day I get 9,216 metal and 4,608 oil. Already you can see the issue their bonus is 60%my total metal income and 68% my total oil income PER DAY, not including worker or crystal bonuses(Which mine will be lost the second it appears?<im assuming one of them will take it>?
Even if and when i join an alliance how can you begin to compete with such an advantage? I'd need to wait for a restart with an established team to even stand a chance.
If you really want to make it more enjoyable for players make it so it's harder for people to get so established early on and have so far a reach(Make it harder to travel distances,I feel as if this would make it so people have to make more outposts and use supply chains more vs. having a 24 tick range) Another way to give new players like me a chance is to make it so that there are more mines+oil wells and their advantage goes down over time(I.e) after 10 of each(metal+oil wells) an alliance receives no further bonus) I feel as if this would give me a chance to form an alliance that won't just get butchered right away<Yes this is idealistic,I understand based on the accumulation of units but it's something that I feel addresses the actual problem.>
Also I'd be interesting to see a little more diversity in the methods by which combat is conducted,from what I've heard it's too easy to just spam 1/3 defense and 2/3 range units. Plus it seems too easy to win a battle,just have more troops or launch a nuke.

hmmmm so start of era people will boost create an alliance with 5 members....then look for noob colonies who luckily got fragment. invite him then create relic after 3 days kick him. Do this with another set of team then after sometime just merge your alliance and boom era end ahaha i havent read the entire thread so humor me with my questions...
1. If a player was kicked after the relic was created will the relic disappear if he owns the fragment used?
2. Who owns the relics? the leader? so my scenario above is possible? i can kick players after i gather their fragments and made a relic and then invite my real team? (so we can plan to have let say 1main and 10 subs that would make the relics for us ahahaa)
3. If the leader disbanded the alliance will relic disappear?

Sounds very confusing and complicated to me...it's not being explained very well how this will work(relics being formed) and how a team will win....

I like this idea however, I don't want it to be implemented on all the worlds. Will this be an update on all servers or a few? I actually like BD as it is minus all the battle hugs. :geek: :roll:

Would be awesome if we had this update on 1 server per world. I'd definitely love to get to play on the update while enjoying the old BD I know and love. :mrgreen:
