What a mature, valid opinion. You make the human race proud.

4 now in counting. This is absolutely horrible, most of you know, radiation from these meltdowns last tens of thousands of years, around 20,000. Think of how small Japan is, if this keeps up, all of Japan could be uninhabitable. My country, Cambodia, nearly fell into genocide, I cry at the thought of Japanese civilization becoming a nuclear ruin, it's just horribly devastating. I might be over reacting but Japan's future is grave as it is.

The worst part is, it's possible for the radiation to come into California. If the radiation from the meltdowns get high enough, and get caught into the jet-stream, this could very well be my last post on the forums here forever. They tell us to hide in our houses with all the windows and doors closed, but that won't help much since it can get through. All we can do is hope for the best but I'm not sure just that will calm my spirits right now.

Just good luck Japan, and hope that the radiation doesn't come to the coast.

EDIT: potatomcwhiskey, you officially have no heart for the thousands of people dying right now. You make me even more sad.

Japan MUST NOT be the next Chernobyl! >=(

I still need to watch Nichijou!

(But really, I'm really sad this happened...damn failsafe systems. They fail when they're supposedly not to!)

Japan will not become the next Chernobyl. The worst case scenario would result in a plume of radioactive material about 500m high being released into the air. In comparison, Chernobyl released a plume tens of thousands of metres high. Even in the worst case scenario, the existing exclusion zone will be sufficient.

I hope there won't be any more, although I hadn't heard about more than 2 till I read this. My thoughts are with everyone affected by this. It's awful
