But when someone does vote no and gives a reason, a flaw to the idea, it gives the maker a chance to tweak it, and make it better. Thus increasing the amount of thought that goes into it, not from one person, but from the community. It makes thee suggestions, truly community made, each one will be a collaboration of community thought. i agree with targoon completely if this can be done it will help out positive progress a lot now the quistion is can it be enforced? and if so how? right there should be the debate because if it can be done then you are stupid to vote no because that is destroying the suggestion forums

yup, saying "I don't like it" isn't a valid argument. If that is a valid argument then I'd like to see Michael updates something and says, becuz I like it or becuz I'm awesome like that. Heck no, people make a suggestion not to see their suggestion receive no vote without a reason, if their suggestion is not good, they have to know why.
From now on for every suggestion I made I'll have a poll like the Sig of the Week vote system.

The community enforces it. They have so many months ago, and they can do it again. Mods do not need to do anything. And thats right aister, people do have the right to know whats wrong with their idea. I dont really care about polls in the suggestions, they just get it accepted and all debates cease. The important part about the suggestions is the reasons and debates. They are what create golden ideas. Not a poll.

If the mods knew how to do their jobs, they would actually see that the topic i linked to, is ALREADY ACCEPTED, and this topic must be locked...
In reference to the whole 'seth didn't agree with this, so its not gonna happen', after discussion, and explination, seth understood what we were going for and eventually supported the idea (read teh entire topic to see this)

btw, I love how LC who was a vehement supporter of no requirement for reasons when I brought up the issue before.
Bravo, hypocrite.
And now on a nicer note: I believe that in order to further facilitate amelioration in our community and to effectively enhance the feasibility of suggestions, we should require no votes to be accompanied by at least a minimal exposition.
I am proud because I finally got to use the word "amelioration" in an actual discussion. That's one less item on my bucket list.

Here, I will move this to discussion and debates and remove the poll. The suggestions is also a place for debates. This is intended for there, and should be moved back.
