If Religion's so great why's it started so many wars? Why does it build big churches but fails to feed the poor?

Im not blaming the tool, religion is fine. But it's that the general concept of "religion" we have most of the time is just that: used for political and social gains. The real religion, though, unadultered and uncorrupted, is actually necessary for people.

simple, religion is based on faith. Ppl believe in some higher beings, and willing to do everything that "higher beings" say. He says it's wrong, then it's wrong, he says it's right, then it's right. No more second word.
This is used by the government to manipulate the followers. Some crazy lines like "last night He appeared in my dream and said that these guys were opposing him and should be obliterated." could start a war easily.

I felt like arguing and no other community debate felt interesting. Let's dust this one off here...
I blame the people that misinterpret their religion. They throw things way out of proportion... Tis why I don't have one.
