I think this is a GREAT guide it covers most of the aspects of a good leader and how a leader should act but it was pretty long though

This is a great guide and I agree with everything said. I've led at some point in EVERY era I've played and I have to say he touched on just about everything.
Not on to the controversial #3. Mudslinging is absolutely a tactic to rally support and lessen the likelihood of your opponent receiving outside assistance. However like all tactics it can backfire in a huge way. A simple way to avoid this is to simply choose people who are actually farming, or have 800 subs, or whatever.
The one thing that I think needed to be dealt with was as the leader your relationships with OTHER alliances. Sure you have to be polite and all that but how do you choose who to ally with?
If you're an alliance ranked #8 and 1 -7 are allies... guess what? round over (Unless you're going to break the treaty).
But if you're ranked #8 and 1 -7 are enemies and you have #23 and #36 as allies well they won't do much good for you either.
Choose wisely and keep in mind how useful, dangerous, likely they are to backstab, where you would fight, when you would fight, and rank they will probably be if/when you fought.
when choosing allies.
