Where are the people? I see plenty of servers around but there is a lack of people on them, I see maybe 700 or so people on each or even far less, what happened to the 2000+ players which used to grace worlds and bring experienced and newbies alike together.
Where are the experienced players? I've played on multiple worlds now and all I am seeing is more or less one dominant alliance with every other alliance too dumbfounded to work together, how are people allowing alliances win so easily?
P2W is too ingrained now. Touchy subject or not, I could be in good teams and win rounds without having to spend a cent in the past, now it's about playing catch up and having to spend to even grace the top 30 once the 100 tick lull ends. What happened to teams who had good activity, who worked together and could achieve impressive victories? Again it comes down to the one dominant alliance who will buy their way to win the round, us average joes can't compete with credit card kids or professionals who have no problem about spending $100 to give themselves the best advantage possible.
Where are the Admins? It seems Admins are having less and less interactions with the servers, relics being released late and no sign of events which keeps top alliances on their toes, again I see rounds already 'ending' before the relics even are released which is a sad indictment where rounds would go 3000 ticks and you still wouldn't have one alliance with all 10 relics.
I am an old dog but someone who has gotten fed up with the state of affairs. I have no problem voicing my opinion regardless of the consequences, I just want my old BD back, the one where I had fun and not the one where I just feel frustrated.
I could go on about solutions but these solutions have been floated many times.

Try playing with newbies - they're much more modest, friendly and motivated then all these no good new gen fools taking themselves for Gods while they've twice the conquers as they have OPs if not worse. You may have more fun.

Thing is I don't care about winning, I've done it before and I don't have some superiority complex where I need to keep winning. I want interesting rounds not one sided affairs, I want more competition in rounds and I don't want to have to lead rounds to get it.
From the alliances I've joined inactivity plagues them all.

This is depressing.
At least the game is still here though. I checked back at a different old game I used to play yesterday and it seems the dev closed down the game completely. It went from several thousand players to a couple thousand, to just under a thousand... Then to about 400 or so players for about a year and then finally maybe 50 players all continually buying the equivalent of 2000 tokens every month and refusing to quit for the past 2 years just duking it out with each other at a game they had played together for the past 8 years.
Then suddenly without warning or announcement, one day the URL takes them to a blank page and it all becomes meaningless.
It's depressing to hear battledawn has so few players these days. It's almost like history is repeating itself. If you dont make the move to mobile soon and invest a decent amount of money on advertising the new mobile version and optimizing it for touch screens... This whole thing will suffer the same fate.
I've re-returned countless times in different names. Usually without having a forum presence or whatever to try and mix things up and 'play' different roles... And I know other players also put much more thought into keeping this game interesting for others than most will appreciate or even know about. It would be a great shame to let those people feel like they have wasted their time.
The success of this game is down to the players who go above and beyond to be fun to play with and against. But that caliber of player isn't going to stick around forever without being appreciated. They don't want to be thanked, but they want their efforts to be matched by that of the devs.
It's unfortunate that we didn't make the transition to being fully mobile/tablet compatible too successfully, but it's not too late. (Yeah I know you can load it up on a browser or whatever) But it needs to happen and it needs to happen with 100% focus. The caliber of online strategy games in googles play store and apples app store is terrible. Truly terrible compared to battledawn. All you need to do is overhaul the graphics. Nobody cares if the file size is massive. Do two versions if people complain about change and have one version with the current graphics.
*CENSORED* hell man. *CENSORED* hell. Where's your motivation? Get this *CENSORED* sorted out.

completely agreed. I was shocked to see the number of people in Mars 3. Hell even the alliance page doesn't go past 20. 206 total people on a map that used to hold 2000, its depressing
