A crystal gives .2 resources TO each (not for each) member of our alliance. Every 5 crystals in your alliance you get +1 metal/oil.
IN ADDITION, you get +1 metal/oil for each crystal you own.
So if you have an alliance of 5 people, and everyone has a crystal you get +2 metal/oil.
If you have 24 people in your alliance and you have 2 crystals, and 3 other people each have 1, you will get +3 metal/ oil.

Okay, it's beginning to make more sense. Can someone compile this scattered stuff and make a real compact guide with all the right info on this subject?
Also, still curious about the relics...

I personally have a relic so yeah
Relics- They give an entire boost to your colony they are a big floating yellow like ship They can be moved any where without any cost of oil even if you have 500000 units on it Relics raise your score by 100
Crystals- Give everyone in your alliance a .2 boost and raise your score by 10

Relics give you a score boost of 250.

I had a crystal in the new earth 3 it gets you and everyone else in your alliance +1 metal and oil.

A relic be really hard to capture though, even when they are unowned, they still have 100+ units in it.
