As you all may or may not know, I announced on the Avatar Commissions thread that something very serious happened which would prevent me from finishing/ making any commissions for quite some time. I said that I was not yet ready to expose what had happened, but I think I am ready to tell everyone now.

I was out having a wonderful Sunday evening with my amazing girlfriend, Adalene. We ate, we walked around town, and we went out to the park to see the blood moon. I wanted to stay there for the whole night, but Ada reminded me that all good things must come to an end (running tradition whenever our dates end). I insisted that I drive her home, but she didn't want to inconvenience me since we lived so far apart. I gave her money for a cab, we said our farewells, and we parted ways. I got in my car and drove for 20 minutes until I got a phone call... from the hospital.
I was informed that Ada had gotten into a severe car accident involving a drunk driver. She was rushed to the emergency room and transferred to the ICU. I was instructed to come immediately to be by her side, as were the rest of her family.
I remained in the hospital for the entire night until I was permitted to see Ada. I was joined by her mother, father, two brothers, and sister. The doctor informed us that she was in critical condition. Multiple bones in her body were broken (which I do not feel inclined to share). She had suffered brain damage, but they could not confirm whether it was reversible or not.
Ada's father instructed me to go home and rest for a bit, since I had remained conscious throughout the night and into dawn. I was reluctant to leave Ada's side, but he finally convinced me to get some rest. He promised that he would call me the moment anything new happened. I returned home and slept for a few hours. I woke up and posted the update on the Commissions thread, while also notifying a few people on Skype that I would be active for quite some time.
This afternoon I decided to return to the hospital to be with Ada again. I have remained here for the duration of the night, and that is where I'm writing this update.

Please, please drive safely and sober for those of age. Any text can wait.

I don't know when I'll be able to start making commissions again, but I feel it is necessary to take some time off from my busy schedule, including SuperMechs commissions. I'm very sorry for everyone who made a commission request, especially Maxx. I only hope that you all understand that this is a very emotional time for me, so I do not have time to perform other activities.
I don't know when I'll be able to resume making commissions, but I sincerely ask for your patience for the next few weeks or months. I may be on Skype occasionally, but I cannot promise that I will reply to every message.

I will post updates on this thread whenever I can.

You shouldn't phrase it like you're bound to be attacked, Adam. Take as long as you need to be with the ones you love. We can wait.
And anyone who complains about it wait doesn't deserve a commission. Just sayin :/

The doctor taking care of Adalene informed us that the brain damage was irreversible and she wouldn't survive. On September 30th, 2015, Adalene was taken off of life support surrounded by family and friends. Everyone gave their proper farewells, including me. I held Ada's hand for the last time as she passed away peacefully.

I'm just at a loss for words right now. I need some time before I can make a statement regarding this event. I know you can all understand how much emotional stress I'm going through right now.

Take as much time as you need, Adam. A personal loss is always rough, and you should let your emotions flow naturally. Don't rush the recovery process.

I'm very sorry about Adalene. As I've said before, stay strong. As you always have.

Obviously we don't know each other well but an event like this touches the whole community to which a person belongs. I will keep you and Adalene in my prayers. Take comfort in the fact that for all her pain she will be rewarded with an eternity of bliss. God bless you both.
